Foxy: From Scruffy Street Dog to Healthy Stray

Foxy is one of the familiar faces of Blue Bay — a street dog many locals and visitors have seen over time, even if they didn’t know her name.

When we first started caring for Foxy, she was struggling. She had lost a lot of her fur due to mange and fleas, her skin was sore, and her overall condition showed just how hard life on the street can be. Like so many strays, she depended entirely on kindness, food left behind, and the hope that someone would notice when things started to go wrong.

With regular feeding, parasite treatment, and basic medical care, Foxy slowly began to change. Her coat started to grow back. Her skin healed. Her confidence returned.

Today, Foxy is still a street dog. She still lives in Blue Bay. But she is not forgotten.

She is fed regularly, monitored closely, and known by name. If she is injured, unwell, or in danger, we step in. This is what caring for known strays means — they are not invisible, and they are not alone.

Stories like Foxy’s are the reason we do what we do. They also remind us why support matters. Food, parasite treatments, veterinary care, and emergency funds allow us to respond when a dog is hit by a car, injured in a fight, or simply too weak to survive on their own.

Foxy is doing well today — and she is just one of many.
